In general Markovian systems, the average irreversible entropy production may increase or decrease after eliminating dynamic variables. We present, for the general case where all variables are time-reversal invariant, a new integral fluctuation theorem for this entropy production difference, which formulates the scheme of entropy production decrease due to the reduction of dynamics. For the entropy production to increase, we find it is essential for the density function to be asymmetric for time-reversal anti-symmetric variables. We demonstrate this by investigating the extended multibaker map model.
