We demonstrate that via optimal control arbitrary time evolutions of many-body quantum systems can be reversed. The optimal reversed dynamics --contrary to standard time-reversal procedures-- is extremely robust to external sources of noise. We suggest a relation between control complexity and the dimension of the manifold supporting the dynamics of a quantum system. We verify the validity of this conjecture in three different models elucidating the role played by integrability in this context.
